The best smoothies are thick, rich, and full of fruity flavor. Frozen yogurt and banana also make this raspberry smoothie rich and creamy!

I love an old-fashioned milkshake, but don’t often indulge because they aren’t exactly full of things that are good for you.  This smoothie gives that cold, creamy luxury with the healthy benefits of fresh fruit.

Why This Recipe Works

  • Banana and honey give the smoothie sweetness without adding sugar.
  • Frozen vanilla yogurt adds creaminess and an extra layer of flavor
  • Simple ingredients make this a quick and easy treat!

About Raspberries

Ripe red raspberries

Raspberries are low in calories and high in fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Choose raspberries that have a deep red color. Make sure they haven’t been crushed or battered. Always check for mold before purchasing your raspberries. You want nice brightly colored berries.

Always wash your berries before using them. Simply place your fruit in a colander and place it in a large bowl of cold water, bring it out and shake any excess water from them. Pat them dry.

How to Make a Raspberry Smoothie

  1. Add the fruit, milk, frozen yogurt, and honey to a blender jar.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Serve and enjoy!

Step by Step Instructions

Cut the bananas and add them to the blender with the raspberries.

Add the wet ingredients.

For added convenience, you can also use frozen raspberries and bananas in your smoothie.

Whizz up the smoothie.

If the use of banana and honey doesn’t make your smoothie sweet enough, just add a teaspoon of sugar.

Serve and enjoy!

Tips and Variations

  • If you are looking to cut down on calories, you can replace the frozen yogurt with ice, but I like the creamy, thick consistency that the frozen yogurt adds.  This recipe makes Makes 4 eight-ounce smoothies.
  • Feel free to replace the yogurt and milk with any dairy-free alternative, it works just as well.
  • If you don’t want to sweeten your smoothie with sugar or honey, you can use maple syrup.
  • Using Greek yogurt will give you a thicker smoothie.
  • Frozen fruit works really well in a smoothie, and if you don’t want to use raspberries, simply replace them with your favorite, or add more. The choice is yours.

Hi Annette, you could try substituting bananas with kiwi fruit or replace the banana with frozen fruit of your choice. I hope this helps:-)
