This quick and easy recipe for Sweet Peach Iced Tea combines two summer favorites—peaches and iced tea.  It’s so refreshing and full of fruity flavor!A glass of Iced Tea with ice and a straw and a fresh wedge of peach on the glass

This Sweet Peach Iced Tea is the perfect way to cool off in the heat of Summer.  A pitcher of iced tea just feels like home to me. Its refreshing sweetness is like an invitation to sit back, kick your shoes off, and relax.

Why this recipe works:

  • Using Peach nectar adds natural peach taste without the hassle of cutting up and pureeing fresh peaches.
  • The hot brew method gives a great depth of flavor and smooth taste.

Iced Tea with Fresh Peach Flavor

I make my lemon iced tea all the time, but I had some peaches to use up before they got too soft and decided to try making my own version of peach iced tea.

Using the fresh peaches turned out to be a lot of work.  I pureed them and cooked them down to make a reduction.  It took a lot of peaches to get enough flavor, so I scrapped the idea.

I spoke to a friend about it and she swears by using peach nectar instead of fresh peaches.  So, to keep things simple, I decided to give it a try.  It was absolutely delicious, and it didn’t taste unnatural at all.

If you are in the US, this can be found in the juice aisle of your grocery store.  You can also get it on Amazon (#paidlink).

Peach nectar is sweet so I cut down on the amount of sugar I usually use.  If you are unsure, just add the nectar before you add the sugar and taste as you go to achieve the best result for your taste.

For extra peach flavor, I added fresh peaches to tall glasses before serving.  This too keeps the peaches from breaking down too much as they sit in the pitcher.

On a hot summer day, this iced tea is a real treat.

How to Make Peach Iced Tea

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil.

Boiling Water in a silver pot

In a large, heat-proof pitcher or jug, combine the boiling water, baking soda & sugar mix well to dissolve the sugar.

Iced Tea Tips:

  • Use filtered water:  The type of water you use will greatly affect the flavor of your tea.  I always use filtered water (not distilled) when making iced tea as it has the purest flavor (unlike tap water that often has chemical flavors ),  I also use filtered water in my ice.
  • Tie the tea bags together so they are easy to remove later.
  • Sweeten to taste: Some peach nectar is super sweet so it’s best to taste your tea before adding sugar. If you do need to add extra sweetness, be sure to stir well so it dissolves completely.
  • Add fresh fruit to the glass, not the pitcher: This keeps the fruit from breaking down in the pitcher making a cloudy tea with mushy fruit.

FAQs

Why add baking soda to iced tea? Some teas can be bitter.  Adding Baking soda neutralizes that and produces a smoother flavor.

Recipe Variations

  • Try adding honey instead of sugar for another layer of flavor.  The honey should be added when the water is hot.
  • Add Mint – Bash up the leaves for added flavor.  Mint and peach are a delicious combination

    Hi eren

I really loved the recipe, except that I don’t live in the US so I don’t know any stores that have peach nectar.
But even without the nectar it’s quite delicious.

yeah it was hard, and I still can’t find a store in Antwerpen ( belgium) that has peach nectar but I tried it with a bit of fresh honey, and it had an amazing effect, maybe you can make it yourself and see if its fit as a similar substance if you like my idea 🙂

Hi Shenita, It helps to take the bitterness out of the tea.

When you say “Large” do you mean a gallon size pitcher?

You can do any size pitcher and jut adjust how strong you make it before adding the water and ice at the end.

Hi Dianne, You just fill the pitcher with the water. The tea should be strong enough that it won’t water it down.
Thanks so much for the comment! So glad you like the drink recipes! 🙂

Hi Kristy, I have never tried to use preservative in my iced tea, it never lasts long enough, so I’m sorry I can’t help you with this.

Hi Kimberly, Are you in the US? Goya makes it. Check your Goya Isle at the supermarket.
