Delicious By Design

We developed this steak stir fry recipe with simplicity and flavor in mind. Recognizing the need for quick, healthy meals that can be whipped up on any busy evening, we chose ingredients that cook quickly and pack a punch in terms of taste. By marinating the steak and using a high-heat cooking method, we ensure that every bite is as delicious as it is satisfying.

Ingredient Spotlight

The star of this dish is undoubtedly the beef steak. We recommend using flank steak for its lean texture and ability to absorb marinades well, enhancing the flavor. As a substitute, sirloin also works well, offering a slightly richer flavor.

When buying steak for stir-frying, look for cuts that are fresh and have a vibrant red color, indicating they are ready for quick cooking. Always slice against the grain to ensure tenderness.

Make It Your Own

This steak stir fry is wonderfully versatile. Feel free to swap the red bell pepper for snap peas or carrots for a crunchier texture. If you enjoy a bit of heat, add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the marinade. For those preferring a less savory taste, try using less soy sauce and adding a touch more honey.

Erren’s Top Tips

  • Mise en place is key! Get ahead of the heat by prepping all your ingredients (chopping veggies, making the sauce) before firing up the wok. This recipe moves fast, so start cooking your rice first.
  • High heat, high efficiency: Choose an oil with a high smoke point (canola, vegetable, peanut) and use high heat for stir-frying. Preheating your pan (even if not non-stick) ensures nothing sticks.
  • Flavor and texture boosters: Want some extra crunch? Toss in water chestnuts or cashews! Feeling adventurous? Swap in carrots, mushrooms, or snow peas for a different flavor profile – just as easy to make!

Storage & Freezing Instructions ❄

Leftover steak stir fry can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. For longer storage, freeze portions in freezer-safe containers for up to a month. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight and reheat gently to maintain the best texture.
