So I’ve been at it for three months now. The good news – I’m feeling good and I’ve had very few flare-ups in the last couple of months. My fitness level has improved greatly. I’m able to do really good workouts without any major problems.
The bad news – still not much weight loss to speak of. At one point I was so desperate, I went off my meds thinking that was the cause. Most of my meds list weight gain and difficulty losing weight as side effects. I lasted four days before I was in too much pain to function. So much for that bright idea!
My diet went out the window for the last couple of weeks because my father in law had open heart surgery so we were out of town while he was in the hospital.
Before we left, I made the decision to try a low carb diet when I got back. We got home yesterday and I just finished my food order for this week. I start low carb tomorrow. My husband is pretty certain I won’t be able to do it. I’m not a big meat eater so cutting out carbs for someone like me is a big commitment, but I’m feeling determined.
He’s hoping I go out of town for the first week because he thinks I’ll be a nightmare to be around, but I promised I would try to keep the mood swings to a minimum. 🙂
If you’re worried this will be a carb free zone – no need. Just because I’m dieting, I don’t expect all of you to change your life so I’ll keep cooking for you. Baking will probably be less frequent as my husband is watching what he’s eating too (he’s looking fantastic and lean), but I’ll still bake a couple of times a month – promise 🙂 I’ll just have to bake recipes I’ve already developed because I won’t be able to test them (so be patent).
I’ll keep you posted and maybe one of these posts will report it’s all going well.
Thanks gain for all of your support! You guys rock!
